A WINCHESTER man was six times the legal driving limit for a breakdown product of cocaine when stopped by police.

Daniel Goodrum, 28, of The Valley, Stanmore, was apprehended by officers on Stanmore Lane, Stanmore, on April 5, a court heard.

He was tested and returned a reading of 305mg/l for BZE when the legal maximum is 50mg/l.

Goodrum was also tested for cannabis and his reading was 6.9mg/l, triple the legal limit of 2mg/l.

He pleaded guilty to both charges and was banned from driving for 18 months on Tuesday July 26.

Magistrates also fined him £200 with £40 costs and a £34 victim surcharge. The fines will be deducted from benefits.
