A LOCAL bridge club that has been meeting weekly for decades has again chosen to support Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance for successive years.

On Tuesday July 12, Judith Stephens from the life-saving charity paid a visit to the club to thank the players for their support and dedication over the years. The club’s chair, Joanna Carter, presented a cheque for £1,170.

Joanna said: “Our members are very grateful for all the dedicated work of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance in helping to save and repair lives. We are delighted to support this excellent charity.”

In December 2021, members of the bridge club kindly raised and donated £1,300 for the air ambulance charity.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance recently marked 15 years since it took off on its first flight. It costs the charity £15,000 a day to continue flying and saving lives.
