AN ARTIST has taken to the streets of Winchester for inspiration.
The bustling street life of the city tempted artist Don Lavelle to capture the scene of Wintonians enjoying the summer weather on his trusty canvas.
With his trademark easel and canvas, Don has become quite a feature on the streets of Winchester and those with time to watch him work are bound to be enthralled by his talent, as well as marvel at the beauty of Winchester through the eyes of an artist.
“The energy and vibrancy of the lively cafe scenes set against the backdrop of Winchester’s historical architecture is truly inspiring,” said Don.
Mr Lavelle has a catalogue of acrylic and watercolour paintings of Winchester and other picturesque parts of Hampshire, created "en plein air" - solely on the spot and can often be seen in Winchesters most idyllic spots working on a new painting.
