A PLAQUE was unveiled by the mayor at a new retirement development in Winchester.

Lifestory hosted a launch at its Sarum Road development Pegasus Winchester Holts to celebrate its completion.

Winchester Holts is a collection of 33 two and three bedroom later-living apartments for private purchase and to rent.

The ceremony was attended by Ian Harrison, managing director for Lifestory’s south and south west region, and the Mayor of Winchester, Councillor Derek Green, alongside current owners, prospective buyers and local businesses.

Cllr Green unveiled a plaque to officially launch the development, followed by the cutting of a cake.

He said: "I'm aware of the positive role that specialist later living developments can play for not just the community, but for local housing markets too. By giving potential downsizers much more choice, we can start to free-up existing homes.”
