A VILLAGER has been fined for having no insurance when he drove his van in Twyford.

Kenneth Richardson, 54, of Peach Hill Lane, Crawley, was caught on the B3335 on June 27 whilst driving a 56-reg VW T-Porter.

An initial denial was changed to a guilty plea.

Magistrates in Basingstoke ruled that Richardson was not misled by the insurance company.

The court on July 18 imposed six penalty points with a £350 fine, £85 costs and a £35 victim surcharge.
