I HAVE often seen and heard Marvin Naylor playing his guitar in the Square or other locations in Winchester.
The idea that individuals such as Marvin are subjected to such abuse is inexcusable (Chronicle, Letter, July 14).
The lack of a police presence is always is rather alarming. Actually, when I see two constables walking along Winchester centre, I always approach them saying they are a welcome sight.
As for Marvin Naylor being seemingly ignored following someone calling the police, it is a rather sad state of affairs.
Winchester is fortunate in having a number of excellent buskers including opera singers and one chap who sounds like Bob Dylan at the Buttercross.
Buskers add a wonderful atmosphere to an already pleasant centre.
Let us not take them for granted.
