A PENSIONER has been caught drink driving near his home in Winchester.

Jeffrey Brown, 75, of Wolfe Close, Stanmore, was in a 55-reg Ford Fiesta when stopped by officers on Wavell Way on June 22, a court was told.

Brown was breath-tested and blew a reading of 50 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 35. He pleaded guilty.

Basingstoke magistrates Court on Thursday July 7 banned Brown from driving for 12 months, fined him £200 and ordered he pay £85 costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
