A WINCHESTER street has celebrated a milestone with a party.

Webster Road in Teg Down, recently celebrated its 60th anniversary in style.

The street was constructed back in 1962 and, to mark this important landmark, the residents turned out in force for a street party celebration. Everybody contributed to a shared meal. They then participated in a quiz and a range of games and activities for all ages. A great time was had by all.

There are three current residents who had purchased houses on the street when they were new. Those who purchased their houses more recently were amazed to learn that in 1962, Shirley Collins, with her late husband Ian, had paid just £2,700 for their three bedroomed semi-detached house.
