He has since been released under investigation.

Pictures taken from the scene show a long row of cordoned off bollards almost completely flattened. One person likened them to 'giant skittles'.

Sainsbury's has said it is working to repair the damage as quickly as possible.

A spokesperson said: “Police attended an incident in the car park of our Badger Farm Superstore last Wednesday and we’re supporting their investigation. We are working to repair the damage as soon as possible and are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”
