A POPULAR Mexican Burrito bar is finally set open its doors to excited Winchester diners after months of renovation.

Mexigo has announced it will be supplying the city with a taste of Latin America at the former site of Jumbo Chinese in Wavell Way, Stanmore, from 4pm on Tuesday, July 5 - much to the delight of hungry residents.

However, the owners have said the restaurant's long-anticipated launch is reliant on a morning of tests and final preparations running without fault.

Breaking the news on social media, a post from the business said: "We are hoping to finally open our doors at 4pm on Tuesday for takeaway and delivery and we are so excited to meet you all. We have a couple of things to sort out and test in the morning. As long as they go smoothly, we will be ready to open. Please keep an eye on our page for confirmation on Tuesday afternoon!"

Established over a decade ago in Southampton, Mexigo opened its London Road restaurant in 2011, quickly cementing itself as a firm favourite in the city by serving up 'authentic Mexican and tex-mex' flavours in the form of burritos, fajitas, tacos and more.
