A HAMPSHIRE nature reserve is set to be improved as part of a project worth tens of thousands of pounds.
Work to improve and repair pathways across Flexford Nature Reserve is due to start in the coming weeks.
Eastleigh Borough Council has invested £75,000 in the scheme which will see essential maintenance carried out on footpaths, bridges and waterways.
Footpath surfaces will be reinstated and improved throughout to ensure the area is safe and accessible.

There will also be new interpretation and information panels as well as improvements to signage with information about the history of the site, animals and plants.
Chair of Chandler's Ford and Hiltingbury Local Area Committee, Cllr James Duguid said: "We are so pleased to have secured the resources to achieve a sympathetic upgrade of the footpaths in this most delightful part of Hiltingbury.
"By obtaining expert advice we are able to improve public access, especially in wet conditions, and being respectful to the heritage of this gem of woodland with its graceful meandering stream."
The project is being delivered in partnership with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.
