THE largest kilo seller of vintage clothes in the UK is coming to Winchester this weekend.

The Worth the Weight sale will be held on Sunday, June 26 from 10am to 4pm at Winchester Guildhall.

Around 60 rails of vintage clothes from a broad range of categories, styles and brands will be available for purchase for £20 per kilogram.

The company is bringing nine tonnes of clothes from 1960s-1990s to the venue where shoppers will be given a biodegradable bag to put their selection into, ready to be weighed.

You only pay for what you buy so if your items weigh less than a kilo, you pay less than £20.

Worth the Weight was set up in 2018 to fight fast fashion by selling second hand fashion at affordable prices.

Marketing assistant for Worth the Weight, Rowan Wolowacz said: “In the UK last year, 31 per cent of clothes ended up in landfill sites.

"This amounts to approximately 350 000 tonnes of clothes. Our mission is to divert these clothes from landfill, slow down the trend cycle and to provide a sustainable alternative to fast fashion.

"We do this by providing quality vintage clothing from all over the world that you might not find anywhere else at an accessible price.”
