PUPILS at a village pre-school will be able to make the most of the good weather after a successful fundraising campaign has seen it upgrade its outside play space.

Acorn Pre-School, which is based in Lockerley & East Dean Memorial Hall, in Lockerley near Romsey, recently raised the cash needed to revamp its garden.

For years, the pre-school had to rely on the primary school’s playground for the young kids to share.

However, that has now changed, and pupils are now enjoying their own area.

Emily Webb, manager of the pre-school, said: “We pride ourselves on providing a safe, secure and caring environment for your children.

"Outside play is very important for children's development. We are very fortunate to be able to use the beautiful playgrounds of Lockerley Primary School however we have always longed for a free flow play area to enhance our resources and children's learning.

"Over Easter the children took part in our annual Easter bonnet parade and raised money for our new free flow outside area which we are very excited to announce opened last week.

"We accept children from age 2.5 onwards. We have a few spaces for September. Please give us a call to arrange to come and meet us on 01794 342441."
