A WINCHESTER musical society recently ran a workshop with their charity of the year Winchester Young Carers before their production of Me and my Girl.

Winchester Musical & Opera Society, worked with children from the charity which works to support young carers aged 8 to 17.

The children were taught the well-known numbers The Lambeth Walk and The Sun has got his hat on by Katie Hickson and Suzanne Hall and with of the cast of Me and My Girl including lead actors Matt McGrath, Molly Moffitt-McGrath and Daniel Williams.

Katie Hickson vice-chair of the society said: “The workshop was incredibly worthwhile for everyone involved, the children and volunteers were absolutely brilliant and through themselves into the morning. I would hope we could run something similar in the future for Winchester Young Carers.”

Winchester Musical & Opera Society have recently been awarded an Accolade of Excellence by the National Operatic and Dramatic Association for their production of Pirates of Penzance last summer and are looking forward to presenting their first big scale musical since the pandemic.

Me and My Girl starred Matt McGrath and Molly Moffit-McGrath last seen on stage in Jekyll and Hyde and Oliva Conroy who appeared in Made in Dagenham to rave reviews.
