A BIKE shop in Winchester is holding a family day to celebrate its launch and opening.

Bespoke Biking Café and Workshop in Kings Walk is hosting the event on May 21 and will have free kids bike checks, discounts on breakfast baps and a free route map of a cycle route around the city.

People have the choice to either explore the route themselves or join the guided ride leaving the café around 11am with options of playing pooh sticks on the river and climbing St Catherine’s Hill along the way.

Bespoke Biking is a social enterprise that has grown from a market stall, then joint premises with Open House Deli and now has its own café and workshop in Kings Walk.

Heather Evans, founder and director said: “I am so proud of everyone who has been involved in our journey and to see how the enterprise has grown is amazing. Bex and I joined forces three years ago and both Open House Deli and Bespoke Biking have flourished and now have their own premises next door to each other.”

“We fix bikes, we hire bikes and we train people to fix their bike. We have also been able to offer refurbished bikes for asylum seekers and those needing a bike such as young carers. We have a team of volunteers who are biking heroes helping get donated bikes refurbished for sale or for those in need.”
