DRIVERS in and around Winchester will have 16 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And five of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 11 closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M3, from 9pm November 30 2020 to 6am May 13 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 11, slip road closure for M3 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.

• M3, from 9pm November 23 2020 to 6am May 14 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 11, slip road closures for M3 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.

• M27, from 9pm October 30 2018 to 6am May 22 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 11, slip road closures for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via National Highways network.

• M27, from 6am May 7 to 6am June 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound and westbound, junction 7 to 9, Narrow lanes and 50mph speed limit for M27 Smart Motorways. 

• M27, from 8pm February 28 to 6am June 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 8 to junction 9, carriageway closure for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via local authority network.

• M27, from 8pm April 4 to 6am July 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound and westbound, junction 7 to junction 9, Lane closures for M27 Smart Motorways.

• M27, from 8pm January 16 to 6am July 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 9 to junction 8, carriageway closure for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via local authority network.

• M27, from 9pm November 26 2020 to 6am August 10 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 9, slip road closures for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.

• M27, from 9pm October 19 2020 to 6am August 13 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 9, slip road and lane closures for M27 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.

• M27, from 6am November 8 2021 to 6am May 19 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 9 to 14, Narrow lanes and 50mph for Concrete barrier scheme.

• M27, from 8pm November 8 2021 to 6am October 12 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 9 to 14, Lane closures for M3 concrete barrier scheme.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M3, from 8pm May 10 to 6am May 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 9 to junction 8, lane closure for drainage works.

• M3, from 8pm May 18 to 6am May 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 8 to 9, Lane closures for drainage work.

• A303, from 8pm May 19 to 6am May 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3, junction 9 to M3, junction 7 via A34 Bullington cross including the A33 and return, diversion route only for Hampshire County Council works off network.

• A34, from 8pm May 19 to 6am May 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound, junction 9 to Three Maids Hill, Lane closures for drainage work.

• A303, from 7.30pm May 23 to 4.30am May 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A303 westbound and eastbound, Picket Twenty, exit slip road closures Galamast construction carriageway resurfacing works, diversion via local authority network.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
