ANOTHER easing of Covid restrictions - Winchester Guildhall has reopened for private hire for the first time in two years.
The landmark building is once again available after being closed for general public use since March 2020.
From October 2020 until last March the building was occupied by HM Courts and Tribunals service who were operating a Nightingale Law Court in order to tackle a backlog in court cases caused by Covid-19 restrictions.
A wide range of rooms can now be hired for various types of functions, from meetings and exhibitions to festivals. Rooms can cater from 10 up to 1,000 attendees and charity rates are also available. All the information is available here: https://guildhallwinchester.co.uk/venue-hire/ or you can call 01962 840 820.
The city council strategic director, Richard Botham, said: “Pre-pandemic the Guildhall hosted over 800 individual bookings and logged 55,000 visitors annually. We’re really pleased to see this popular building in the centre of Winchester once more hosting private hire events.”
