AN Eastleigh man has admitted possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, following a routine stop search by officers.
It comes after officers located a discarded knife in a garden at around 11.20am on Friday May 6 on Archers Road – after the man had attempted to run away from officers.
Andrew Henbest, 36, of Desborough Road in Eastleigh was arrested, and later charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He appeared before Southampton Magistrates Court on Friday, where he pleaded guilty to the offence.
He is due to be sentenced at the same court on Wednesday June 8.
