AN INITIATIVE that seeks to place contemporary sculpture within the local community has come to Winchester.
The exhibition features various sculptures made with a broad range of media, including human hair, building refuse, found objects, steel, fabric, Jesmonite, plaster, wood, paper, wire, paint and pigments.
The exhibition, titled Boundaries, has been organised by Hampshire Sculpture Trust and is at West Downs Gallery at the University of Winchester until May 13.
Stephen Towns, from the trust, said: "This exhibition represents the continued commitment of members of the trust to promoting sculpture in the region, despite total loss of funding in recent years.

"It is a serious, professional initiative to place contemporary sculpture within the local community, comprising work by practising artists in this region."
Chloe Battle, the curator said: "We are delighted that the Hampshire Sculpture Trust has been able to exhibit in our new gallery space.
"The show has been really well curated and offers a great variety of artistic approaches and mediums to stimulate our students, staff and visitors."
Work on display covers a broad range of types and styles, enabling the visitor to experience a wide variety of approaches to the practice of contemporary sculpture.
