THOMAS the Tank Engine is set to come steaming along an historic railway line much to the delight of families and children in Hampshire later this month.

The popular Thomas and Friends event is returning to the Watercress Line for more fun and adventure from May 28 to June 5.

Fans of the friendly steam locomotive are invited to climb on board at Ropley station for a Day Out With Thomas.

Joining Thomas at the station will be Sodor Station Sweepers Rusty and Dusty, Diesel and Toad - with Sir Topham Hatt keeping all the activities in order.

Three new outdoor entertainment shows will be held each day for all the family to enjoy as Rusty and Dusty invite their friends to join them.

Young fans can make special memories by meeting their favourite characters Sir Topham Hatt, Rusty and Dusty up close and there is plenty more fun in store with Thomas and Friends.

Activities include a ride behind Thomas the Tank Engine, unlimited rides on the miniature railway, children’s vintage fairground rides, a ride on the big steam trains and the Imagination Station Play Zone.

The Watercress Line’s acting managing director Alison Houghton said: “We are really excited to have the Day Out With Thomas event back at the Watercress Line.

“Thomas the Tank Engine, Sir Topham Hatt and all your favourite characters will be waiting to welcome you at Ropley Station and there’s a full day of fun and games guaranteed.

“This special event always proves popular, so to avoid disappointment, please book ahead.”

All activities and rides are included in the ticket price. Parking at Ropley Station is free.

Tickets cost £23.10 adults, children over two £16.50 and under twos are free.
