A HAMPSHIRE school has urged its pupils to be vigilant after a man was spotted taking pictures nearby.

Wildern School has issued a warning to parents following a suspicious incident on Friday.

It reported that a man was taking photos in Wildern Lane in Hedge End.

In a recent post on social media, the school said: "We have been made aware from the local police team this afternoon that there has been a male taking pictures outside of the schools on Wildern Lane.

"Please ask your children to be vigilant and report anything suspicious to you or to us at school or to the police. Thank you."

Hampshire police have stated they regularly patrol schools - at the start and finish of the day.

However, there were more officers in the Hedge End area on Friday due to the suspicious incident.

Anyone with concerns is urged to ring police on 101 or contact them online via the Hampshire Constabulary website.
