A VILLAGER has been cleared of failing to help police and will have her costs reimbursed.

Josephine Ann Barney, 63, of Nobs Crook, Colden Common, has been accused of failing to tell police the identity of a driver of a 62-reg Vauxhall believed to have committed an offence on February 8 last year, a court heard.

Mrs Barney denied the allegation and was present to be found not guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates Court.

District Judge Tim Pattinson ordered that her costs, including an amount of legal costs be paid from central funds. Her personal expenses are to be assessed.
