Four children from Winchester have completed a 50km (32mi) sponsored cycle for Ukraine, raising £6,000 in the process.

After learning about the situation in eastern Europe, Sofia (11), Noah (7), Josh (8) and Harry (8) took on the Red Squirrel Trail on the Isle of Wight, with the four Westgate School students completing the challenge over the course of Saturday and Sunday.

The young quartet said: “It was really challenging at times, but we kept going knowing that we were making a difference. It was really encouraging talking to people along the way and lots of people gave money after seeing what we were doing.”
