BOUNDARY changes for a parish council will have a second public consultation, a meeting heard.
Test Valley Borough Council plan to remove Romsey Extra Parish Council and merge it with Romsey Town Council.
The latest public consultation will start on April 8.
Cllr Ian Jeffrey said: “The draft recommendation propose that the whole of Romsey Extra parish be transferred to Romsey Town Council with the exception of one small area, immediately adjacent to Awbridge. This area will be transferred to Awbridge Parish Council.
“A report for final recommendations will be brought to council in September.”
Cllr John Parker: “As chair of Romsey Extra Parish council I welcome the work of the panel.”
Cllr David Coole said: “In the last public consultation, only nine people responded. That either means that they did not hear of it, or that they are just not interested in local government. I can't believe that number would not be interested in local government.
“I hope that we can do better in the second consultation process.”
The motion was passed by the council, with one abstention.
