NINETIES heart-throbs East 17 are set to take to the stage at a Hampshire music festival.

The Gosport Waterfront Festival will take place in Walpole Park in the town for three days from Friday, July 29 and will see East 17 top the bill on the Saturday night.

Also performing at the three-day charity-run event will be pop singer Gareth Gates, best known for starting his career on TV show Pop Idol, and Kule T, who was in the band that sang “I've got a little something for ya”.

The Friday night will see local acts perform. The acts will all be chosen at a competition taking place at the Carisbrooke Arms on April 6 until April 8.

Portsmouth-based Ska Band 2Much2Tone will round off the first night.

Organiser Dave Smith said: "On Saturday we will have the one and only East17 headlining, performing all their hits along with many local bands and artists during the very long day.
