AN inquest has been opened into the death of a recovery worker who was hit by a van on the M3.
Vologea Mihaliuc, of Andover Road, Southampton, died on February 21 between junctions 13 and 14 at Eastleigh.
The 54-year-old was working on a broken down vehicle at the scene.
The causes of death were given as extensive multiple injuries.
Area coroner Rosamund Rhodes-Kemp adjourned the inquest at Winchester Coroner's Court, for a target date of September 2, pending further investigations.
