Police have arrested a suspected Class A drug dealer in Chandler’s Ford after he was caught performing ‘reckless’ handbrake turns in a car park.

Officers were patrolling the car park in Bournemouth Road in the early hours of this morning – around 1.20am – when they witnessed a vehicle driving recklessly and performing handbrake turns.

After speaking with the driver, a 20-year-old man, police conducted a search of the individual and the vehicle. During which, officers seized a quantity of what is suspected to be Class A drugs and cash.

Following further investigations and a search of his home in Fair Oak, the suspect has been arrested on suspicion of careless driving and possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.

He’s been further arrested for the possession of two prohibited weapons under section 5 of the Firearms Act 1968 and for the possession of an offensive weapon under the Offensive Weapons Act 2019.

The man currently remains in custody.
