A PHYSIOTHERAPIST from Kings Worthy has spoken of her pride at opening a new clinic in Winchester.

Lucy, who studied physiotherapy at Oxford Brooks and studied a Masters for osteopathy at the British School of Osteopathy, opened Winchester Wellness Clinic in Woodhams Farm New Barn in Kings Worthy on Saturday, January 29.

The 33-year-old said: "We're really proud to get here. Initially we wanted to have our own venue a bit sooner but with Covid being thrown at us, we're proud we have got here, even though it's taken two years, we've got this beautiful setting to offer everyone."

The business started in 2020 at Westgate Badminton Centre.

The new premises, run by osteopath Kris Smith and physiotherapist Lucy Bransgrove, features a bigger space, more available time slots and offers a range of treatments from physiotherapy, osteopathy, pilates and sports massages, while a health coach is also available for EFT and Reiki.

Kris is a resident osteopath who has a specialist interest in back pain, having published his research into the topic. Kris has also obtained further training in cranial osteopathy and gained a BSc in studying sports and exercise sciences.

Lucy, 33, said: "We're really hoping to expand now that we have more available space. We'd really like to have every aspect of health here, from a nutritionist and a psychologist. We believe collaborating is the best form of healthcare rather than trying to go down one route, which keeps failing. It's best to put heads together and treat people properly."

Describing what being a physiotherapist means to her, Lucy, said: "It's everything. I knew I wanted to do physio from a very young age, and health and well-being to me is super important. As a team, we want to help Winchester and the surrounding areas to feel better and do everything they want to do.

"The worst thing is when someone says they can't do the sport they want to play or they can't look after grandchildren because they are in pain, or anything that stops people from doing what they love. It can have such a big impact on their life, so it means a lot."

The clinic is open from 8am until 9.30pm weekdays and 8am until 5pm on weekends.

For initial consultations, pricing ranges from £70 for osteopathy and physiotherapy with a £65 follow up, £75 for a health coach and £65 for a one hour sports massage.
