A MASSIVE pile of 150 tyres is on fire at a farm in Springvale, King's Worthy, this afternoon.
Around 20 firefighters are currently trying to cool the tyres. They are billowing black smoke, which is being blown north east by the wind.
The fire started at 3.09pm at South Stoke Farm in Loveden Lane, opposite the King Charles pub.
By 3.30pm, 75 per cent of the tyres had been damaged by the fire.
Fire fighters were called in from Winchester and Alresford to cool the flames and stop them spreading. A water carrier from Eastleigh was also called to the scene as there was not much water at the farm.
The police were asked to check that smoke was not affecting traffic on the A33.
At 4.25pm, the cooling process was beginning to bring the fire under control.
