A vehicle crashed into a lamppost in Bishop's Waltham yesterday.
Bishop's Waltham Fire Station tweeted: “Alarm caused by steam from vehicle following a road traffic collision. Scene made safe, and driver checked for injuries working with Hampshire Constabulary and South Central Ambulance Service.”
A spokesperson from Hampshire Fire Service said:
“Bishops Waltham firefighters were called to a road traffic collision in which the vehicle involved had gone into a lamppost and was reported to have been on fire.
“The crew were called to the scene on Malt Lane at 11:41 yesterday morning and found the reported fire to have been a false alarm caused by dust from the airbags.
“HIWFRS provided scene safety as paramedics treated one casualty.”
A spokesperson from South Central Ambulance Service said: “The female driver had sustained minor facial injuries as a result of the collision and was taken to University Hospital Southampton for further assessment.”
