MORE walk-in clinics are being offered in Winchester this week.

Philip Heiden, managing partner at St Paul’s Surgery said demand for booked appointments at the vaccination site at Badger Farm Community Centre has dropped in recent days.

So it is hosting walk-in clinics at Badger Farm on:

Tuesday 8.30am to 4.30pm;

Wednesday 8.30am to 1pm;

Thursday 8.30am to 4.30pm.

The clinics cater for patients aged 12 years and over. Attendees must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria (appropriate time between having vaccinations). Patients will be turned away if they are not yet due.

It comes as Covid infections are dropping in all 14 parts of the Winchester district, for the first time since last April.

In the seven days to January 10, the most recent days for which localised figures are available, there were 1,282 cases reported, a drop of 409 (24 per cent) on the previous seven days. The rate per 100,000 is now 1,018, the lowest figure since December 20.

Rates remain at above, 1,000 per 100,000 people in eight places: Winchester West; Winchester North and Sparsholt; Colden Common and Twyford; Springvale and Itchen Abbas; Bishop's Waltham and Waltham Chase; Whiteley Knowle and Wickham; Swanmore, Hambledon and West Meon; and Denmead and Southwick.
