On Friday last week Biddle appeared at Winchester Crown Court after he pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving without insurance on the A272 at Hinton Ampner on December 8.

Judge Mr Recorder Paul Garlick QC jailed Biddle, of Lockerley Road, Havant, for 16 months and disqualified him from driving for five years - he must take an extended retest.

Biddle received an £80 fine during a hearing at the magistrates court in December for being in possession of cannabis on the same date as the other offences.

The court was asked whether the theft of the Christmas presents was put to Biddle, but the Chronicle was told that the offence was not put to him.
