AN INQUEST has been opened into the death of an Eastleigh man after a fall at his home.
Gordon Frank Carter Clark, of Lindon Grove, died in Royal Hampshire County Hospital on August 11.
Mr Clark, 96, fell unwitnessed at his home, but alerted his life line which called for an ambulance.
He suffered multiple fractures and was put on a liquid diet after having difficulty swallowing.
However, he was given a bread roll which caused him to choke.
A post mortem, by Dr Adnan Al-Badri, found the cause of death to be aspiration pneumonia.
Senior coroner Christopher Wilkinson adjourned the inquest, to take place on July 5.
