A VILLAGER has been jailed and banned for motoring offences

Stuart Forsyth, 41, of Carousel Park, London Road, Micheldever, was in a 12-reg Vauxhall Insignia stopped by the police on the A33 near the village on October 25, magistrates were told.

He admitted failing to give a specimen of blood at Basingstoke police station, driving with no insurance and otherwise than in accordance with a licence and also possession of cocaine.

The magistrates in Basingstoke jailed him for 16 weeks because of the seriousness of the offences and a record of many offences of a similar nature. The court banned him from driving for three years. An interim disqualification started on November 11.

Forsyth was ordered to pay £750 costs and a £128 victim surcharge.

At a separate court hearing at Basingstoke, Forsyth was also convicted of drug driving on Essex Street in Newbury on January 25 2020.

He denied driving with excess cocaine and also cocaine breakdown product benzoylecgonine but the case was proved in his absence, according to the court record.
