CHILDREN across Winchester have taken to stages this month to perform the Nativity story.
The ancient tale has been performed by infant and primary schools alike to commemorate the birth of Jesus and to celebrate the festive season.
This year's schools and pre-school have sent in a wide variety of renditions including Ropley Primary School's production, An Upbleat Nativity, and Kings Worthy Primary School's Everyone Loves a Baby.
From shepherds and angels to adorable little stars, youngsters at schools across Winchester and the district have been busy with rehearsals and productions.
The imaginative backdrops and sturdy wooden mangers are testament to the energy and enthusiasm of teaching staff and are much appreciated by the junior casts, judging from their glowing faces and gleeful postures.
