A beauty salon, which is based at Winchester Sport and Leisure Park, has won a national award.

Sparx Beauty won Beauty Salon of the Year at the National Hair and Beauty Awards. The prize was won at the awards evening on last month, at the Hilton Hotel Wembley.

They were up against the best in the industry and were shocked that an independent salon in Winchester could win a national award.

After a tough couple of years this award means the world to all the staff at Sparx. When covid first hit, Sparx was one of the first salons to close due to being in River Park Leisure Centre on March 20, last year.

After restrictions were lifted for personal care in July 2020 and the uncertainty for the future of River Park meant that Sparx had to find a temporary home until the new leisure centre was finished.

Sparx moved into 63 High Street from July 2020 - May 2021 when the new centre was ready to open.

They also had a satellite clinic in Colden Common but had to give that up to the hairdresser for social distancing.

The salon knows its been so tough for everyone these last couple of years but are so proud to receive the award.
