THE arts and education charity which runs the Theatre Royal Winchester has announced support its music programme from a regional law firm.

Play to the Crowd, which also runs the Hat Fair and Playmakers, has been given the backing Paris Smith for the theatre’s music programme.

Deryck Newland, chief executive of Play to the Crowd, said: “We are thrilled that Paris Smith are continuing to support us as a Corporate Partner, supporting the Music Programme at Theatre Royal Winchester. Music is a key part of the programme at the theatre. I aim to programme a diverse mix of musicians, bands and groups so that there is hopefully something for all music lovers. We are delighted that Paris Smith recognise the importance of the arts and the impact it makes to society. They provide vital support to our sector locally. Each year Play to the Crowd involve over 140,000 people annually in cultural activity in their local community, with more than 75,000 enjoying performances at Theatre Royal Winchester alone.
