A teenager, who went to school in Winchester and is trying to be the youngest woman ever to fly around the world solo, is now due to finish her journey next year after the latest delay.
Zara Rutherford, who studied at St Swithun’s school, set out on her journey on August 18 and was expected to finish in three months, but visa problems and bad weather conditions meant she is currently due to finish on January 10.
Zara was most recently stuck in Ayan, Russia, where she was stranded for three weeks.
She was able to leave at the end of November when she arrived in Vladivostok, Russia.
Her next stop is South Korea where she will finally enter a warmer climate.
Zara is currently due to be in Muscat, Oman on Christmas Day and Cairo, Egypt on New Year's Day.
