A WINCHESTER busker has been performing but with the blessing of Winchester Cathedral.
Marvin B Naylor has been playing on the stage at the cathedral Christmas Market in the Inner Close.
He was invited to perform on the stage, which has replaced the ice rink this year, after an incident reported in the Chronicle in the summer.
Marvin was playing at the entrance to the Close at The Square. He was approached by a churchman who ordered he leave as Marvin was blocking the entrance.
He refused and alerted the Chronicle and the publicity reached the national newspapers. The churchman, a member of staff at the cathedral, has since privately apologised.
Marvin said that the performances were going well but a downside was that it was harder for people to put money into his guitar case than when he is playing on the street.
