THE mobile phone signal problems affecting Winchester are set to last another week.
The problems were caused by the removal of a temporary mast, which used network providers including O2 and Vodafone, on the corner of Andover Road and Bereweeke Road.
A message on O2's service status page had said that an update was due for December 3, but it now says: “Sorry, a phone mast close to you has been taken down.
“We've had to remove a mast near you. We’ve upgraded other masts nearby to help boost the network, but we’re sorry if you’re still having signal issues.
“We’re working to get a new mast up and running as soon as we can. Please bear with us. We’ll update you by December 9.”
Hampshire Chronicle readers have reported problems with signal from O2/Virgin, Vodafone and Tesco Mobile. All of these network providers have been contacted for a comment on the situation.
EE confirmed to the Chronicle that the mast does not serve EE customers.
