RESIDENTS of a Hampshire town enjoyed a Christmas Fair last night, with local businesses and groups contributing to the festivities.

The town centre of Bishop's Waltham was taken over on a cold Thursday evening by stalls from local businesses, festive fairground rides, performances from local groups and a visit from Father Christmas.

The event started with a selection of carols sang by the choir of St Peter's Church, including a rendition of Away in a Manger.

Labels Dress Agency welcomed visitors with Prosecco, mice pies, chocolates and a fire pit outside.

Local business Sammy's Cakes were selling festive products from their stall as were Bishop's Waltham Country Market.

Meon Valley Lions Club had their Santa Tour at the Christmas Fair. Father Christmas was also on hand to meet and greet.

Bishop's Waltham Rotary Club had their Roger the Engine at the event, its tour starting on December 12. For information about where it will be, visit: www.bisopswalthamrotary.org.uk.
