A YELLOW weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for ice in and around Winchester.
The alert which covers parts of Hampshire as well as the South West and Wales warns that roads and railways may be affected.
It is said that "some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces" are to be expected as well as "some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths".
Longer journey times may occur by road, bus and train according to the Met Office.
The alert began at midnight and is due to last until 10am this morning.
