ANOTHER plea hearing has been set for a man accused of a serious assault in Winchester city centre earlier this year.
Long Fei Zheng, 49, was due to appear at Winchester Crown Court last Thursday to enter a plea to a charge of wounding with intent, but the court has said that the hearing was “ineffective”.
Long is expected to stand trial after 37-year-old Lin Xin was found with stab wounds in Andover Road on September 9 at an address close to the Carfax junction.
A further hearing has been scheduled at the same court on December 20.
Long, of Vernham Road, Weeke, remains in custody.
