UPDATE: The stretch of motorway is now open following the earlier incident.
ALL traffic has been held on the M3 this evening (Thursday) following an incident.
All lanes have been stopped and traffic is stationary due to a collision on the northbound carriageway near Eastleigh.
The crash occurred between J12 A335 (Eastleigh) to J11 A3090 (Winchester South). AA Traffic has said that the incident was first reported at 7.24pm.

The collision is currently affecting traffic between Southampton and Winchester.
National Highways, previously known as Highways England, has said that the scene is expected to be clear and traffic returns to normal by 9.15pm.
It is currently unknown what caused the collision or how long traffic will be held.
