AN INQUEST has been opened after a lighting technician was found dead on the cruise ship he was working on.
James Edward Rodd, 24, and of Downs Road, South Wonston, was discovered hanging in the sound booth of the Carnival Conquest cruise ship on October 27, this year.
Following Mr Rodd’s death, a post mortem was carried out when the ship docked in Miami and a cause of death was given as hanging.
Area coroner Jason Pegg opened an inquest at Winchester Coroner’s Court and full hearing will take place on July 4, next year.
