A WINCHESTER man has been fined nearly £500 for trying to travel without paying.
Christopher Bourne, 31, of Durngate, did not have a ticket when approached by rail staff at Truro station in Cornwall on July 24, a magistrates court in Plymouth heard.
The complainant was Great Western Railway (GWR).
The case was proved in Bourne's absence and he was fined £200 and told to pay compensation of £71.90, a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £180.
