THIS month, all plant-based eaters are coming together to celebrate World Vegan Month. A month where vegan's celebrate a plant-based lifestyle, which includes avoiding meat, fish, dairy, eggs and honey.

The Isle of Wight has many restaurants to choose from, all with impressive reviews and high ratings on Google.

With a host of options to choose from, the County Press have compiled a list of five popular vegan restaurants on the Island, based on our readers' recommendations in a recent Facebook post.

 

Tansy's Pantry

Located in Church Hollow, Godshill, Tansy's Pantry is highly rated for it's food, drinks, atmosphere and dessert. One happy customer wrote on Google reviews: "Visited whilst on holiday and so glad we did. Great food and drinks with a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be back when we are next on the island."

Another said: "Such a good place for tasty and healthy meal. I had a salad bowl with tofu and a delicious Belgian chocolate cake for desert. Highly recommended. I would come back just to have that food again."

The menu consists of Caribbean curry, soul bowl, vish and chips and burger and chips, which all cost £12 per dish. Mac and cheeze, bread boards and fries also come as sides, with the pantry also serving a large drinks menu, from beer, spirits, cider and soft drinks.

Tansy's Pantry serve a Sunday roast as well as take away options.

 

Caesars Restaurant

Located in 35 Esplanade, Shanklin, Caesars is popular for their vegan and vegetarian dishes. With a rating of 4.7/5 on Google, one customer wrote: "Felt very welcoming with a very friendly staff helping us all the way. Very affordable price tags for all you can eat deal and our kids enjoyed being there and choose what they fancy from the menu with good variety."

The restaurant is all you can you for a price of £12, which includes veggie and vegan burgers, salads, sides and an extensive drinks menu.

Another reviewer wrote: "Fabulous food and service, well worth the money. The food was freshly cooked with great portions and fantastic quality.We will definitely be coming back."

 

Craft Vegan

Home of vegan junk food and craft beer, Craft vegan of Esplanade, Ryde, has scored a 4.9/5 on Google. Popular for their kebabs and pizza's, one reviewer wrote: "One of the best vegan meals I have EVER had. My other half dais his [said it was] the best pizza he had ever had and he isn't vegan. Staff were super friendly and lovely decor. Will definitely be back when next on the island. 10/10."

The restaurant serve a menu of vegan doner kebabs, sourdough plant-based pizzas and dirty, junk food fries. Pizza's are topped with hand crafted melted vegan Mozza-Hella-Yeah, which makes pizzas unique.

Another customer wrote: "Fabulous food, THE BEST PIZZA and dirty fries we've ever had. The service was brilliant, the wait for food was minimal and we could even take our dog. Can't recommend this place highly enough, we can't wait to go back. So great to have places on the Island where you don't have to search the menu for vegan options."

 

Peach Vegan Kitchen & Zero Waste Store

Based in St James' Street, Newport, Peach Vegan Kitchen has a Google review of 4.8/5, with one customer writing: "Very nice coffee and cozy place for brunch! One of the few vegan places in Newport. Very good service as well - they are super nice! The mermaid latte is my favourite."

The menu includes: burgers, hot dogs, mac & cheeze, fish fake salad, Mexican bean role, sandwiches and much more. Drinks also include: coffees, teas, matcha and hot chocolate,- as well as shakes and smoothies.

Another customer wrote: "Went for breakfast and it was amazing. Cooked breakfast was one of best I've ever had. OH [other half] had a smoothie bowl which he said was great too."

 

Harbour Kitchen

Given a rating of 4.7/5 on Google, the Harbour Kitchen stands out for their vegan menu, which includes African peanut pot, BBQ, lentil and seed patties and salads.

Based in 117 High Street, Cowes, one customer wrote: "Absolutely delicious meal. Great choice of vegan meals alongside non vegan. Staff were welcoming and attentive. We had the lentil seed burgers which were amazing,  then the vegan blackberry crumble and a huge milkshake. We will definitely be back and highly reccomend to anyone. (There were also Gluten free options available)"

Another wrote: "Amazing selection of food including vegan and vegetarian options! We really enjoyed our visit to HBK, the staff were very friendly and the venue itself had a great vibe. There was an extensive menu with so many options, making it difficult to actually pick! The mushroom & pepper burger, and BBQ bean & seed burger we opted for were both delicious and we’ll definitely return next time we’re on the island!"
