RESIDENTS and businesses across the Winchester district are invited to join the next Central Winchester Regeneration Open Forum to hear an update on the project.

During the session on November 22, attendees will hear the latest on the archaeology investigations underway; plans for the site of the old Friarsgate Medical Centre; improvements planned at Kings Walk; and the next step for the development of the site and how the proposals will be delivered.

Proposals for this phase of development incorporate Winchester bus station, Kings Walk, the old Friarsgate Medical Centre and Coitbury House to bring a vibrant new mixed-use development, with high quality new homes, flexible workspaces, a thriving night-time economy and beautiful public spaces.

Cllr Kelsie Learney, cabinet member for housing and asset management, said: “We are at an exciting time for this project and are really keen to share our progress with the public. This Open Forum will be a chance for everyone to see what we have been busy doing since the last Open Forum in the Summer – including updates on our archaeology investigations and our plans for Friarsgate and Kings Walk – as well as what will happen next to make the vision for this area a reality.”

There will be a presentation from members of the team, and everyone will have a chance to ask questions.

The open forum will be held on November 22 at 6pm, and will be hosted online via Microsoft Teams. If you would like to join, email CWRegen@winchester.gov.uk to be sent the link and instructions on how to join the session.
