THE A272 near Winchester has now opened after a lorry overturned yesterday morning.
The lorry slewed off the road near Cheesefoot Head causing the road to be closed all day. The driver was taken to hospital.
Police expected the road to remain shut until at least 9am today (Tuesday) so the carriageway could be repaired overnight.
However, it was only announced that the road had reopened at 3pm today following carriageway repair works.

Drivers were asked to find alternative routes. The closure caused congestion around Winchester and the other side in the Cheriton and Owslebury areas.
In a tweet Winchester Fire Station said: "A VERY lucky escape for one lorry driver yesterday morning. Winchester crews responded to an overturned lorry. The driver escaped with no injuries just very shaken up.
"As winter sets in, take extra care as the mornings get darker and roads more slippery. #drivetoarrive"
