A WINCHESTER University student has been banned from the road for drug driving.
Carl Uitterlinden, 20, was stopped by officers on Sparkford Road, close to the university campus at West Hill, on February 25, a court heard.
He tested positive for an illegal amount of cannabis; the level was not stated on the court record.
Uitterlinden, of Hughes Road, Wokingham, Berkshire, studying forensic investigation, denied the charge.
But the allegation was proved at trial at Basingstoke Magistrates Court.
District Judge Tim Pattinson banned him for 12 months, fined him £180 with a £34 victim surcharge and ordered he pay £300 court costs, to be paid at £50 a month.
